The Colorado BLAST Girls' Fastpitch Softball Club continues its winning ways. We played some good ball during the Shootout. Despite playing shorthanded we gave a couple of quality teams their first, and in some cases their only losses. Our late inning rallies were amazing, putting frear into the teams we didn't quite get on top of..... THIS TIME. Check out some of the action.
We have a talented group of players who see softball as a life-style. Although we come from several different programs, What keeps us together is a love for the game. Our strength as a team, awareness of the pace of the game.
Our emphasis is two fold; taking our physical skills to the next level and being a step ahead of the game. This approach often means re-learning skills that were taught at lower levels. For example: ‘Circling’ the ball is so much more effective than simply ‘squaring up’. Just because there’s a runner at second doesn’t mean the play is at third. Our opposition’s base-runners are simply OUTS which haven’t been recorded yet.
Softball teaches so many of life’s lessons in such persuasive ways, ways which are not always recognized at the time. Thinking ahead of the curve is most valuable. We emphasize and practice this methodology to bring our players to a level of knowing how to play every position, while excelling at the one which best suits their own abilities. We believe this leads to a successful ‘TEAM’ effort and leaves our girls with a sense of having done their very best, win or lose.
Our staff has an extraordinary amount of experience. From high school through competitive, semi-pro in Europe to a call up at the Triple-A level. However, we are all students of the game.
Our passion is exceeded only by our desire to share that experience and love of the game with our players.
